Counseling

Some children experience significant emotional or behavioral difficulties in the school setting that could adversely affect the child’s educational performance. School-based counseling services enable our counselors, your child’s teachers, and other support staff to communicate directly and effectively to coordinate care. This service enables children to receive counseling directly in the school. The counselors are specially trained in school system functioning and learning, as well as how students' behavior and mental health impacts their ability to be successful in school

Counseling can help with:

  • school problems

  • conflicts with peers

  • problems following directions

  • poor attention span

  • anxiety

  • poor frustration tolerance

  • anger management

  • depression/mood dysregulation

  • disruptive behaviors

  • childhood trauma

  • grief and loss

Speech & Language Therapy

Some children experience speech and/or language disorders in the school setting that could adversely affect the child’s educational performance.  School-based speech and language therapy enables our therapists to provide treatment for students in the areas of language, voice, fluency, and articulation.

Speech Disorders:  A speech disorder refers to a problem with making sounds.

Articulation: These are problems with making sounds in syllables, or saying words incorrectly to the point that listeners can't understand what's being said.
